
Bio
From a background in martial arts, clowning, physical theatre and community development work; Jonas is passionate about sharing creative and empowering experiences with others.
Throughout his career as a young arts worker he has contributed to a number of community development projects in Brazil working with children and young people to develop confidence, self-esteem and cultural identity.
With a degree in Tourism from Brazil; since migrating to Australia in 2008 he has extended into fields such as marketing, creative industries and project management. As Co-Director of MARACCAS, Jonas has had the opportunity to further his artistic practice through creative workshop facilitation and participating and performing in a number of events and festivals building on his techniques of clowning, roving theatre and physical theatre. He has participated as a performer in a number of events and festivals in Brisbane and surrounding areas including Zillmere Multicultural Festival, World Refugee Day, National Youth Week, Anywhere Theatre Festival and Woodford Folk Festival.
Jonas has also been working on heights in industrial rope access and rock climbing for over 2 years and holds his IRATA ticket level 2 for safe rigging at heights.
