'Creating Heroes' Cultural Leaders Progam High School
Designed to break down socio-cultural barriers and acknowledge every student as a cultural leader. The focus of the program is to allow students to show initiative and take on responsibility and ownership of the outcomes of the program.
Practicing various disciplines over a period of weeks, the program culminates in a final 'Sharing Event' in which the participants of the program will have an opportunity to showcase to their peers, teachers, parents and community what they have achieved throughout the program.
Activities focus on visual arts & craft; speech and drama & performance; sport, recreation & exercise; as well as events and project management allowing students the opportunity to take on an organisers role in managing the final event.
The creative disciplines are used as a tool for engaging the kids in becoming active leaders and learning important life skills.
Active Arts
High School & Primary School
The ‘Active Arts’ workshop program includes outdoor recreational games and arts-based activities that lead to learning outcomes in areas of local cultural heritage and identity.
These workshops can include walking tours where students are able to discover local landmarks and sites of cultural heritage. Having the opportunity to engage in class discussions and activities about self-expression and identity, as well as active reacreational and drama based games that promote health and wellbeing stimulating the mind and body.
These ‘Active Arts’ Programs are designed to combine a range of different disciplines over one day, or can be tailored to a period of weeks.
Leaving participants feeling energised, inspired, and in touch with their creative selves.
School Programs
MARACCAS offer a range of different workshops for schools. Perfect as one-off workshops or weekly programs. These workshop programs can be offered as an after school hours program or during school hours and can be coordinated to fit within school curriculum aims and objectives.
Creative Self Expression
High School & Primary School
The Creative Self Expression Programs combe a range of different creative disciplines such as dance, visual arts and craft, circus and drama over a number of days or weeks culminating in a conclusive and self-expressive showcase where the participants can perform and promote their gained skills for their peers, teachers, parents and local community.
This program can be targeted towards any school age group and focuses on learning and having fun in a safe and inclusive atmosphere.
Designed to foster creative self-expression, through engaging with a series of dynamics participants begin to explore and experience themselves as limitless creative potential.
